The rear spindle of a passenger car is a major safety part that has to secure enough durability and impact performance. And these two performance has to be checked at the same time during car-design.
In this research, the test and analysis are executed simultaneously for insuring the prediction technique of durability and impact performance. For the case of impact, the spindle was mounted at aluminum wheel and was checked for the impact fracture. The load history date, measured from durability road, was used for the prediction of fatigue life. The case of impact analysis was performed by using ABAQUS, and the road wheel was tested on the condition of ISO impact test regulation for the settlement of basic impact load.
